As a building designer, his fees are lower than the typical architect, which saves the customer money in more ways than one. Galen charges by the square foot for new projects and by the hour for remodel projects. This saves the customer money as the fees are not based on the total cost of the project.

He also does not typically oversee the building project, which also saves the client money, as they don’t pay the designer and also the contractor to oversee the project. However, if the client desires this service, Galen can perform oversight services as well.

The client receives a complete set of plans for submittal to the applicable building department. Galen’s designs are well-known and respected by many building departments. One building department Galen has previously submitted plans to uses Galen’s plans as an example of a complete and proper set of plans. Galen’s services include submitting the plan to the building department for permit, which often saves the customer time and headaches.
